How Do I...

Search for a book or author?

Select the "search library collection" option from the list at the left of the page, or click the "Book Search" button at top right.

In the search box marked 'author', type in the author's last name, being sure to spell it correctly.

If you know the title of the book, type it in the search box marked 'title'.

Click the search button and the search results will appear. Select the book you wish to look at by clicking on the title.

Use Interlibrary loans?

If you would like a book that BPL does not currently have in its collection, we can search other libraries in Northern Ontario, and borrow it from them on your behalf.

First search for your author and title on our search page to be sure we don’t have it here at the library.

Then, email BPL your request. Include the author name and the book title, along with your name and phone number.

We will search for your book and notify you when it comes in (usually 7–10 working days). If for some reason, we are unable to fulfill your request, we will contact you to let you know.
