Billings Public Library’s 23rd annual Family Reading Program will begin January 21st. Family Reading is designed to encourage families to develop the habit of reading aloud together. Studies have shown that children who are read aloud to have improved language skills and are more successful in school. During the program families will read together for 20 minutes a day for 20 days. Families completing the program will receive a book and be entered into a drawing for a special grand prize. A Circus Variety Show is scheduled for February 24th at 6:30 to celebrate the end of Family Reading. In the Taoist tradition, a person's health depends on the harmony of body, mind, and spirit. The Taoist Tai Chi arts exercise the entire physiology, including the tendons, joints, connective tissue and the internal organs. Attendees should wear comfortable clothing that allows movement, including grip-less, flat-soled shoes, and should be prepared to sign a waiver.

In conjunction with the Black Heritage Foundation of Yellowstone County, BPL sponsors a series of programs on African-American history and culture. This program celebrates poetry in all forms. It's an open mic night, so bring a favorite poem to read - yours or someone else's - or choose one of the great poems provided!

The TECH Lab is the library's digital learning lab that's just for teens. Come to the lab to learn about 3D printing, use our audiobooth to record and mix music, build and program some robots, and much more!
